ST. MARYS â€“ A Kersey couple charged with taking their own 11-month-old child from a relative's custody waived hearings in District Court Tuesday on charges stemming from the April 22 incident in which the two allegedly burglarized the legal guardian's home and snatched the child before leading cops on a chase that ended in downtown St. Marys.
Three St. Marys residents charged with killing four whitetail deer outside of hunting season and processing the animals in a St. Marys garage, pled guilty in Elk County Court Monday to various counts of unlawful killing of big game.
Through the efforts of multiple groups throughout the area, education signage will be unveiled to the public at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the Ridgway Reservoir as part of a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Officials of the Ridgway Township Municipal Authority voted in favor of accepting ownership of a waterline within the township, pending approval from a third party, during a regular meeting Thursday night.

JOHNSONBURG â€“ Late Monday morning, Michelle Bowley reported that her mother, Carla Geer, and 4-year old granddaughter, Braelynn Bowley, were sitting outside Carla'a house at 502 2ndÂ StreetÂ when little Braelynn told Carla "Grandma, you've got smoke coming out of your house."
The man charged with the Jan. 8 gunpoint robbery of a Johnsonburg bank was sentenced Monday in Elk County Court to serve five to 10 years in state prison.
A Ridgway man charged with setting fire to his father's Johnsonburg rental property pleaded guilty in Elk County Court Monday to a felony charge of arson and related offenses.
Mary Rose Maletto, age 96, 203 East Ave., Johnsonburg, died Sunday evening, May 5, 2013, at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
She was born March 26, 1916, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Pasquale Nocito and Mariannina Perrone Nocito Condina.
On June 17, 1939, in Holy Rosary Church, she married Alfred J. Maletto Jr. who preceded her in death on June 7, 2010.
