Philip D. Popielski Sr., 73, of 134 Valley Rd., St. Marys, died on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at his home surrounded by his wife and friends.
He was born May 26, 1939 in Ridgway, son of the late Chester and Charlotte Donlan Popielski.
On March 28, 1989 in Florida, he married Amy C. Bowley, who survives and was the rock of his life.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1957.
David W. Erich, 46, of 511 N. St. Marys Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie following complications of an injury from a car accident many years ago.
He was born February 13, 1967 in St. Marys, a son of Arnold "Butch" and Doris Rigard Erich of St. Marys.
Johnsonburg baseball won 12-2 in five innings over Bradford Friday afternoon at Knothole Area Recreational Park.

JOHNSONBURG â€“ Visiting Bradford sent 12 batters to the plate in the first inning and another nine in the sixth inning to produce 11 of their 15 runs Friday in a six-inning victory over Johnsonburg.
The Lady Owls took advantage of 13 walks and four errors in the 15-4 victory.
Bradford put six runs on the board in the first inning to take the early lead. Lindsay Rinfrette was 2 for 3 on the day with five RBI and two runs scored. She got things rolling with a two-run single to plate Ashley Stoltz and starting pitcher Rylee Lindgren for the early 2-0 lead.
Ridgway baseball swept a doubleheader with Kane Thursday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
Ridgway won 11-1 in six innings in the first game and then won 19-1 in the second game.

The Elk County Board of Commissioners announced today that the Elk County Jail successfully crossed the finish line in EPAâ€™s 2012 ENERGY STAR National Building Competition: Battle of the Buildings. In its third year, the competition featured teams from across the country racing to improve energy efficiency, lower utility costs and protect health and the environment. Together, competitors cut their energy costs by more than $50 million.
