KANE â€“ A Ridgway couple face drug charges following a traffic stop Monday afternoon on Route 321 near the entrance of Kane High School.
The Elk County Historical Society held its 49th Annual Dinner Friday night at The Royal Inn along Boot Jack Road to celebrate Elk County's 170th birthday.
Historical Society President Sarah Murnaghan welcomed patrons to the event and took a moment to remember the deceased members of the Historical Society prior to an invocation by Father Brian Vossler of St. Leo's Church.
July 11 will mark the one-year anniversary of a fiery car crash along state road 255 in Byrnedale that claimed the life of 23-year-old Savannah Straub, of St. Marys, and saw the alleged driver of the vehicle charged with her death.

JOHNSONBURG â€“ Johnsonburg softball lost 12-1 in five innings to Curwensville Monday afternoon at Knothole Area Recreational Park.
After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Tide would take control of the game with a 7-run second inning. Abby Johnson led off the game with a single. Alaina Stiles, Nikki Harker and Tierra Shope all walked, Shope's walked came with the bases loaded to score Johnson for a 1-0 lead.
After completing her first Boston Marathon, St. Marys resident Molly Quesenberry had a strong feeling that she wanted to see her family as soon as possible.
The Ridgway YMCA celebrated Healthy Kids day on Friday at the North Broad Street facility.
"The Ridgway YMCA had a great turnout for their annual Healthy Kids Day," said Mary Lynne Bellotti, executive director of the Ridgway YMCA. "It is so nice to see so many families spending time together at our facility.Â The kids had so much fun-- face-painting, gymnastics, demonstrations, pool fun, crafts, healthy snacks-- and it was all free for everyone that came into the Y."
