Man arraigned in Clarion teen's abduction

The man charged in the disappearance of a 13-year-old Clarion girl, safely returned after police in South Dakota stopped a car carrying the two, was arraigned in a Rapid City courtroom last week on charges that he drove the teen across state lines "for the purpose of engaging in unlawful sexual activity" with her.

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg High School basketball coach William Shuey was recently recognized during a council meeting for his role in leading the Rams to the PIAA Class A Championship. "The kids really enjoyed how the community rallied around them," Shuey said. "I know they were feeling kind of bad coming back from Hershey but when we showed up in town their spirits were lifted." James Earl Bennett, 78, of Ridgway, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
He was born August 7, 1934 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late James Robert and Ella Grace (McQuown) Bennett.
On June 15, 1957 he married the former Diane Dunmire, and she survives.
Mr. Bennett worked at Airco Carbon in St. Marys and Punxsutawney. He served in the United States Army after the Korean Conflict. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping.
