Knocking off Lincoln Park too tall a task for Elkers

CLARION – Lincoln Park Charter spoiled the Ridgway Elkers' state playoff run for the second year in a row Tuesday with a 51-34 victory to advance to the Class A quarterfinals.
Ridgway last season advanced to the semifinal round before losing 65-46 March 20, 2012 to the Leopards.
"Our team played hard but after giving it everything they had and losing, they're hurting right now," Ridgway boys varsity basketball coach Anthony Allegretto said following the loss. "The first half went really well for us and our defense was doing very well. They played their hearts out and left it on the floor."

During Monday afternoon's regular council meeting Johnsonburg resident Stephanie Carnessali proposed the idea to create a website showcasing events, announcements and other general information for the public.

Margaret J. Reynolds

Margaret J. Reynolds, 66, of 120 Fraley St., passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys.
Born July 14, 1946, in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Melva Roades Seth Sr.
Mrs. Reynolds had worked as an aide at the Lutheran Home at Kane. Prior to that, she had been employed by Sylvania and the former Kane Diner.
She was a member of the Kane VFW Lodge #1132, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie # 307, and had belonged to the former Moose Club in Kane.

CW2 Charlie Morgan, 48, of the New Hampshire National Guard passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. She was surrounded by the love of family and friends at the time of her passing. She lived in New Durham, N.H. with her wife Karen and daughter Casey Elena. Charlie was a veteran who deployed to Kuwait in 2010 and received a Meritorious Service Medal for her work as the Brigade Equal Opportunity Advisor. She was a board member of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network and Outserve who fought tirelessly for marriage equality and human rights.
