ST. MARYS – Members of the Elk County Solid Waste Authority expressed their support for making Ceramic Street, which is located in the Stackpole Complex near the Community Recycling Center, into a two-way street.

PHILIPSBURG – Police say that a murder-suicide at a Philipsburg area grocery store Thursday morning was the work of a former Pennsylvania State Trooper who used a shotgun to kill his estranged wife before turning the weapon on himself Thursday morning.

Details emerge in homicide investigation

JOHNSONBURG – On Wednesday, police released further details of their investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Johnsonburg woman whose body was found Tuesday in a park on the outskirts of Ridgway.

Cleanup continues on Bennett Branch

PennDOT reps discuss SR 255 project

ST. MARYS – Representatives from PennDOT and the project contractor met with residents and business owners to discuss the state Route 255 project during a public meeting held Wednesday evening at South St. Marys Street Elementary School. Work on the project is expected to start within the next two weeks.

Demo permits issued for PennDOT project

ST. MARYS – With preliminary work already under way on the construction project along SR 255 in St. Marys, another piece of the puzzle recently fell into place as demolition permits were issued for structures that are planned to be removed as part of the project.

Alyssa Jean Forsyth, 18, of German Settlement Road, Ridgway, passed away March 26, 2013. 
Born Dec. 10, 1994, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Susan Compton Trumbull and the late John Edward Forsyth.
Alyssa was employed at Arete in Daguscahonda. She loved spending time with her nephew William Trumbull and her niece Sierra Trumbull, both of Las Vegas, Nev., and her little cousin Chloe Hepfner of Port Allegany.
