Two traffic accidents occurred within minutes of one another on Thursday along the Million Dollar Highway in Fox Twp., and another in Jones Twp. resulted in a fatal crash. According to Elk County Office of Emergency Services alerts, the first accident, a two-vehicle collision, occurred at the intersection of state Routes 255 and 948 in Fox Township just before 4 p.m. The second accident, a one-vehicle crash, occurred just after 4 p.m. when emergency personnel were dispatched to the Million Dollar Highway near Greenbrier Drive in response to the first accident.
JOHNSONBURG – For the 10th consecutive year, both the elementary and high school in the Johnsonburg Area School District [JASD] were recipients of the Keystone Achievement Awards received from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in recognition for its ability to meet Adequate Yearly Progress [AYP] targets for two consecutive years in the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment [PSSA].

Kane wrestling won 41-27 over Ridgway in a dual meet held Thursday night at Ridgway Area High School.
The Wolves made their seven match wins count, earning maximum points in six of them with four forfeits and two pinfalls. The Wolves also earned a technical fall.
Ridgway won a trio of close decisions with two pinfalls and a forfeit.
JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Rams held a slim 22-21 lead going into the final matches Thursday night against visiting Clarion but could not shut the door in a 32-26 loss.
Devin Mann squared off against Clarion's Caleb Bailey at 113 pounds and overwhelmed the opposition, scoring five takedowns in an 11-2 major decision to earn a bonus point.
"[Mann] had five takedowns throughout the match and that was the best I've seen him wrestle all season," said Johnsonburg head varsity wrestling coach Mike Votano. "He's been working hard and the results are coming out."
