The Ridgway Chamber of Commerce has 153 members whom they help to promote and assist with business development. The chamber began in 1892 and has been assisting local businesses ever since.
Nancy Densmore-Wilson, 55, of Laurens, Iowa, formerly of Ridgway, died on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Smith-Loterbour-Powers Funeral Home in Laurens with Pastor David Lyons officiating. Burial will be at Poland Township Cemetery in Marathon.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct 21 at the Smith-Loterbour-Powers Funeral Home in Laurens. An Eastern Star Service will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

WILCOX â€“ Residents living near the corner of Oak and Marvin Streets in Wilcox have for years dealt with storm water drainage issues resulting in flooded backyards.
Pennsylvania state Senator Jim Ferlo announced in April of this year his desire to enact legislation that would put a moratorium on shale gas drilling in Pennsylvania. The proposed moratorium would last three years and would ban the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection [DEP] from issuing new drilling permits and would also disallow drilling at sites where permits have already been granted where drilling has not yet begun.
Richard L. Young, 87, a resident of Highland View Health Care, Brockway, and formerly of 1168 Windfall Rd., St. Marys, died on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Highland View.
He was born June 29, 1926 in Huntington, W.Va., son of the late Charles and Lida Hall Young. He was a graduate of Huntington High School and Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. He had been a resident of St. Marys since 1966 and was a retired employee of Pure Carbon Company.
On Dec. 13, 1958 in Huntington, W.Va., he married Geraldine P. Powell, who preceded him in death on July 9, 2013.
Ridgway boys soccer finished their season with a 3-3 tie against Curwensville Thursday afternoon.
Ridgway honored their seniors before the game, the seniors are Kyle Jacobs, Dustin Cowan, Brandon Wildnauer, Joe Horning, Ben Izbinski and Mason Stark.
Donald Edward Smitley of Dunbar, PA, went to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at home.
He was born April 25, 1956 in Connellsville, PA, son of the late Howard R. Smitley and Betty Klink Smitley.
Don was a wonderful husband, father, brother, & friend.
He was a Union Secretary of the former Foseco Corp., a member of the Old Time Fiddlers, Irishtown Sportsman Club, Dunbar Boys Blue Grass Band, & a member & superintendant of Pechin Chapel.
He worked as a lift operator for Sony.
John L. Leathers, 82, of State College died on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 30, 1931 in Ridgway, the youngest of four sons, to the late Ira Bartram Leathers and Hazel Minnick Leathers.
On Aug. 23, 1958, he married Gretchen Ashbaugh Leathers, who survives.
Tom Copella, a Kersey native, returned to the area five years ago and continues to create the beautiful artwork he has done nearly all his life.
"Seventh grade, somewhere around there I started painting," Copella said. "I had a teacher that liked it, so i thought it was something to do."
