A Ridgway man headed to trial on drug charges filed after state police allegedly uncovered marijuana growing on his Long Level Road property was in Elk County Court last week seeking the suppression of evidence obtained by police in aerial and physical searches of his property and home.
Ridgway boys basketball used a strong third quarter to overtake the Elk County Catholic Crusaders 48-41 Saturday night in front of an overflow crowd at Ridgway Area High School.
Although the Crusaders kept within striking distance of Ridgway throughout the game, ECC was unable to pull even with Ridgway after the first quarter.
"Ridgway has an excellent team," Elk County Catholic coach Aaron Straub said. "They're extremely well-coached. They're extremely talented. They are awfully difficult to beat. We look forward to the next opportunity to play them."
