ST. MARYS – The St. Marys City Police Department reports that charges have been filed against a female juvenile who claimed to be the victim of a kidnapping attempt outside St. Marys Area High School on Wednesday night.

After the Johnsonburg Rams (13-1) stormed the floor to pre-game introductions complete with spotlight theatrics in a dark gymnasium, the show continued as they shot lights out for an extensive early lead, and eventually prevailed in a 49-29 win Friday night over visiting Ridgway (11-3).
Johnsonburg girls basketball won 59-14 over Ridgway Friday night at Ridgway Area High School.
Johnsonburg had a balanced scoring attack with Chelsea Benson leading the way with 13 points. Brittany Watts and Kathryn Polaski had 10 points and Rhianon Fowler had nine points.
"We worked on a couple plays," Johnsonburg coach Mike Zilkofski said. "The press worked well for us. We needed a little work on that and it helped."
JOHNSONBURG – Senior Project Manager Travis Long of Gwin Dobson & Foreman [GD&F] reviewed various public water supply options as part of a consent order and agreement proposed by the Department of Environmental Protection [DEP] during a Johnsonburg Municipal Authority meeting Tuesday night.
Marie E. Lewis, 91, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of Weedville and 101 N. Mill Street, Ridgway, died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 4, 1921 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late Hilary and Ethel McClintick Lewis.
