Karen Sue Yorns, 44, of 429 Allenhurst Ave., Ridgway, died peacefully in her sleep on January 9, 2013.
She was born June 8, 1968, in Butler, the daughter of James Lilley and the late Doris E. Lillie Lilley.
Karen worked as a part-time hair stylist, she took care of her mom for Community Nurses and was a volunteer for CAPSEA for many years. She spent a lot of time in Corry, where many of her relatives still survive. In spite of her long standing, serious health issues, she remained a loving, caring, helping person. Truly a beautiful angel on earth.

Milliard and 'known associate' charged in federal court

ERIE – Criminal charges continue to emerge in the investigation and prosecution of Francis Anthony Milliard, 55, of Ridgway, charged with two Elk County arsons and an attempted murder, as a federal grand jury indicted Milliard and a 'known associate' Tuesday for violating federal gun laws.

PIGEON – A Highland Township volunteer firefighter was injured Wednesday morning while responding to a 14-vehicle traffic accident on icy Route 66, six miles south of Russell City.

Younger Milliard granted bail modification

An Elk County Judge granted a bail modification request made by a 28-year-old Ridgway man charged with setting fire to two Elk County properties and held in Elk County Prison on $125,000 bail since July of last year.
