EMPORIUM – Fugitive Thomas Edward Smith, 58, of Emporium, wanted for the attempted abduction of a female bank executive, turned himself in to authorities Monday night, according to police.
The Emporium Borough Police Department reports that at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3, they received a tip from a concerned citizen that fugitive Thomas Edward Smith, 58, of Emporium, had just entered the Allegany Pub, 500 E. Allegany Ave., Emporium. Emporium Borough Police and Emporium-based Pa. State Police surrounded the establishment.
Charles William 'Bill' Reed, 95, died Aug. 31, 2012 at the Rouse Home of Warren County where he had resided the past nine months.
He was born in Ridgway on July 24, 1917 to the late Ruth Dickey and Rollin Amos Reed.
On June 12, 1948, he married Ruth Anna Eckert who preceded him in death on Aug. 16, 2006.
