KERSEY – Work continued over the weekend as members of Midway Utica, N.Y. moved their amusement rides in preparation for this week's Elk County Fair.
While patrons will later this week embark on the fairgrounds in Kersey, organizers said work for this year's fair began just a little while after last year's event ended.
"We've been doing our hoagie fundraisers, they do very well, and we've had flea market craft shows that do fairly decent," said Jamie Wolfe, grounds manager. "We have a sign program as well where you pay money to have a sign on the fence at the grounds."
ST. MARYS – Elk Regional's acute care service for non-urgent health care needs, called "Q Care," has been restructured with new hours, a new location, and lower costs to better serve area residents.
Susan (Asunta) Mann Veneziano, age 103, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the Twinbrook Medical Center.
Formerly of Erie, she resided in Harbor Creek Township. She was born in Brockway July 18, 1909, daughter of the late Salvadore and Angeline Mann. She is survived by her sons, Barnie Veneziano of Harbor Creek, with whom she lived, Thomas Veneziano and his wife, Marge, of Charleston, S.C., and James Michael Veneziano of North East; and her daughter, Suzanne Scaduto and her husband, John, of Henderson, Nev.
