KANE – A 14-year-old boy was injured Tuesday evening when the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) he was operating collided with a westbound vehicle on Route 321 at Apollo Drive in East Kane, Wetmore Township.
A medical helicopter transported the boy to a hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. The extent of his injuries were unknown Tuesday evening.
The four persons in the vehicle did not sustain major injuries, according to Kane Fire Chief Tim Holt. The vehicle flipped onto its side and the ATV and boy were trapped beneath the wreckage, sources said.
Elvira "Ellie" Ann Watson, 79, died suddenly on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Pocono Medical Center, Stroudsburg. Born in Ridgway, daughter of Claude and Carrie Hostetlar Agens, she was the loving wife of Everett "Spot" Watson for 55 years. She was a member and past chaplain of the Eagles Club-Aerie "588."
ST. MARYS – State Rep. Matt Gabler (R-Clearfield/Elk) will be holding a ceremony to recognize Vietnam War-era veterans in his legislative district and is asking area residents who served during that time to contact his office.
The Ridgway minor league all-stars once again had the game in doubt until the final pitch.
Once again, Ridgway survived a final-inning rally victorious.
A third straight close call gave the Ridgway 9- and 10-year-olds the D-10 North Division title and a chance to play for the D-10 title outright with a 13-12 victory over Bradford Tuesday night at the Ridgway Little League fields along Grant Road.
