Keeping a close eye on key federal legislation, North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development [NCPRPDC] officials are carefully watching the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act [House Resolution 6083], which was advanced July 12 by the House Agriculture Committee.

Wilcox wins Region 8 tournament

ST. MARYS – It was gradual. It was dominant. It's a Region 8 championship for the Wilcox American Legion baseball team.
Wilcox scored in seven of eight innings and outhit Albion 16-3 to capture the American Legion Region 8 tournament with a 12-0, 8-inning victory over Albion in the championship game at Berwind Park Wednesday afternoon.

Opinions vary on multiple sanctions against PSU

Wilcox falls to French Creek Valley, plays for Region 8 title

ST. MARYS – Once again, Wilcox has the fate of a tournament come down to one game.
Wilcox will play for the Region 8 championship this afternoon after an 11-6 loss to French Creek Tuesday night at Berwind Park.
French Creek Valley will play Albion at 1 p.m. with the winner to play Wilcox at 4 p.m. for the championship. Wilcox also faced this situation in the Elk County League Tournament as the team lost to Fox Township but rebounded to win the following day in the league title game.

Dickinson Mental Health Center relocation

With Dickinson Mental Health Center just days away from unveiling its new 28,200-square-foot facility located at 43 Servidea Drive along Route 219 in Ridgway Township, Dickinson CEO Jack Goga explained the motives and incentives behind the new $4.1 million facility.
Groundbreaking at the site took place in October 2011 and according to the DMHC website, the construction is ahead of schedule. As a result, DMHC programs to be housed within the new facility are scheduled to begin their relocations as soon as Aug. 1, with the process continuing through Aug. 9.

Joseph F. Ehrensberger

Joseph F. Ehrensberger, 69, of 114 Cadillac Rd., St. Marys, died peacefully Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1942 in St. Marys, son of the late Joseph A. Ehrensberger, who died in 2001, and Clara B. Speaker Ehrensberger of St. Marys, who survives. On June 10, 1961 in the St. Mary’s Church, he married Carol A. Bauer, who survives.
