The Kane Borough Police Department is continuing to investigate a “freak” accident that claimed the life of a 52-year-old Kane man.
Dale Ostrander of 129 Lincoln Ave., Kane, sustained fatal injuries in the accident Tuesday morning near the employee entrance at the rear of Kane Community Hospital.
Ostrander was a long-time hospital employee.
Police said the victim was fatally injured when he was pinned against an exterior wall by a pickup truck. The unoccupied truck was left "idling" and for some unknown reason moved forward and hit a picnic table near the employee entrance, police said.
