WEEDVILLE â€“ One of the county's resident bull elk recently found himself in a tangled situation after an encounter with what is believed to be a homemade hammock.
The Ridgway Borough Council adopted the 2013 budget without a tax hike during Monday night's regular meeting.
Council unanimously approved the $6 million budget without a tax increase following a public budget meeting held prior to the regular meeting.
The new budget includes a general fund of $1,568,745.
Council member Ralph Dussia made the motion to adopt the budget.
Ella Mae Powley, 94, of Bradford Manor, Bradford, formerly of Wilcox, died Sunday morning, Dec. 16, 2012 at Bradford Manor following a brief illness.
Powley was born Aug. 11, 1918 in Sergeant, daughter of the late Roy and Tirzah Reid Stanley.
She married the late George M. Powley on Oct. 22, 1938 in St. Nicholas Church, Sheffield; he died June 27, 2001.
After a defensive struggle in the first half, Ridgway was able to wear down Cameron County's defense in the second half and pull away for a 52-20 win over the Red Raiders Monday night at Ridgway Area High School.
Ridgway led 15-8 after a low-scoring first half of play.
"Coach (Cameron County coach Jon) Songer had a great game plan there," Ridgway coach Anthony Allegretto said. "They got those big kids standing in the zone, controlling the boards and they made us hit shots."
