The annual holiday to remember veterans is quickly approaching and the Rides for Vets program in Elk and Cameron counties is offering a way to honor the veteran(s) in your life.
FOX TWP. – A banquet and auction hosted by the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS), a wildlife conservation organization with 120 chapters nationwide and others in Canada, was held Friday at The Red Fern in Fox Township.
Monica G. Defranco, 89, of 207 Grandview Rd., St. Marys, died Friday evening, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Pinecrest Manor.
She was born Dec. 1, 1922 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Ambrose and Mae Kerner Bauer. On June 28, 1948 in the St. Mary’s Church, she married Fred T. Defranco, who survives.
Mrs. Defranco was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1940. She was a former employee of Sylvania and a member of the Queen of the World Church.
