Ramettes upset Kane

January 7, 2012

JOHNSONBURG – The Ramettes got a 20-point night out of junior Brittany Watts as the Ramettes (4-5) stunned Kane (8-3) Friday in a 46-42 upset in Paper City.
After going cold at the charity stripe for the latter part of the fourth quarter while trying to secure the game, Johnsonburg got its 4-point cushion as Kassa Kocjancic converted her second free throw attempt for the 46-42 lead with six seconds on the clock. A final uncontested 3-point try sailed over the hoop as the Ramettes shocked the Lady Wolves.

The Ridgway Township Municipal Authority approved the 2012 estimated operating budget during Thursday night's regular meeting.
Accountant Jeff Schutz estimates a total operating revenue of $993,910 with a capital expense of $75,000.
"I did hear some discussion of grinder pumps at Montmorenci and other issues that you may need to spend some money," Schutz said. "So you will have that $75,000."
According to Schutz, the 2012 budget is "in comparison" with the 2011 budget.

The Elk County Catholic Crusaders defeated the Sheffield Wolverines 63-57 last night in a game played at ECCHS.
Sheffield led for the first half of the contest, holding a 8-6 advantage at the end of the first period and a 17-15 lead at halftime. ECC came to life in the second half, taking a 36-29 lead at the end of the third quarter and then holding on for the 63-57 victory.
"It was a good win," said ECC coach Aaron Straub. "Any time you can give up 28 points in the fourth quarter and still win has got to be a good one."
