The Borough of Ridgway will look into contributing to the restoration of the Pennsy Railroad Station campaign fund after Mayor Guillermo Udarbe made the proposal during Monday night's council meeting.
"The renovation of the North Broad Street train station is under way," Udarbe said. "You should go and take a good look at it when you get the time to see the improvements. The [Ridgway] Heritage Council donated $2,500 to the train station renovation project and the Borough should also play an important role in this project."
ST. MARYS – The Elk County Catholic Crusaders handed the St. Marys Area Flying Dutch a 67-47 District 9 League setback last night at the ECCHS gym.
The Crusaders were able to use a quick start to jump out to an 18-4 lead after the first eight minutes of play. The Dutch were never able to recover as the Crusaders went on for the victory.
“We had a good start but I thought we played a little loose in the fourth quarter,” said ECCHS coach Aaron Straub. “We were shooting the ball pretty well and when you make them they are all good shots.”
