Johnsonburg wrestler Jesse Wolfe recorded his 100th win at the Coudersport Duals over the weekend.
Wolfe secured his 100th win with a pinfall victory in the 135-pound bout against Lackawanna Trail. Wolfe is currently 13-0 this season.
Max Zimmerman was 4-1 at the Coudersport Duals and according to Johnsonburg wrestling coach Tom Launer, Zimmerman is currently at 92 career wins.
Johnsonburg is at Sheffield tonight.
Patricia A. Mitchell, 71, of 121 Powell St., Ridgway, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Ridgway, the daughter of Harold and Mary Cianca Russell.
She married Samuel Mitchell, who predeceased her on Oct. 15, 1996.
Mrs. Mitchell was a lifelong Ridgway resident. She was a member of St. Leoâ€™s Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafts and talking with people. She was employed at Clarion Sinitered Metals, retiring in 2001.
Ronald L. Chapin, 73 , of 465 Marvin St., Wilcox, died on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1937 in Kansas City, Kan., son of the late Charles D. and Ruby I. Woodcock Chapin.
He married V. Louise "Lou" Lehman on July 16, 1994 in the Wilcox Lutheran Church. She survives.
He resided in Wilcox for the past 18 years and was formerly of McPherson, KS. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1955.
Ryan Matthew Schwabenbauer Jr. died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at the University of Maryland Medical Center, NICU, in Baltimore, MD.
He was born Dec. 11, 2010 in Baltimore, son of Ryan Matthew and Tricia Lynn (Constable) Schwabenbauer Sr. of Baltimore, who survive.
Mary Lee Urmann, 77, of 551 Charles St., St. Marys, and formerly of 344 South St., Ridgway, died Thursday evening, Jan. 6, 2011, at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born in St. Marys on Oct. 5, 1933, the daughter of Leander B. and Marian Ryan Weis.
On April 7, 1956 in Sacred Heart Church, she married John M. Urmann Sr., who survives.
Thomas W. Miller, 92, formerly of Huntingdon, died at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Valley View Haven Nursing Home, Belleville, where he had most recently been a resident. Born March 1, 1918, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late William Asbury and Charlotte (Wall) Miller. He was united in marriage to the former Naomi Swigart Jan. 30, 1943, in the Stone Church of the Brethren, Huntingdon, by the Rev. Dr. C.C. Ellis. Mrs. Miller preceded him in death Nov. 13, 2001.â€¨Mr.
Arthur G. Weber, 85, of St. Marys, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 at the Erie Veterans Hospital after a short illness.
He was born April 21, 1925 in St. Marys, son of the late Michael and Anna (Birner) Weber.
On Aug. 10, 1963, he married Shirley Wehler, who preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2000.
He lived all his life in St. Marys, spending the past year with his daughter in Ridgway. He worked at Stackpole Carbon Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Queen of the World Catholic Church.
Doris J. Kusbit, 81, of O'Hara Township died Thursday afternoon, Dec. 30, 2010 at The Willows at Oakmont following a short illness.
She was a resident of O'Hara Township since 1980.
She was born July 25, 1929 in Vandergrift, daughter of the late Albert and Ethel (Bailey) Carter.
She married Rudolph R. Kusbit of O'Hara Township. He survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Altar Guild at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at Fox Chapel and she volunteered at the Glade Run Lutheran Facility in Zelienople.
Frank Charles Giffi Sr., 94, of Reisterstown, Md. passed away on Jan. 2, 2011 in Baltimore.Â He was born on April 10, 1916 in Ridgway to the late Carmine and Clotilda Giffi.Â He was married to the late Mary Louise Stringer Giffi.
He was a resident of Ridgway for 53 years.Â He was a member of St. Leoâ€™s Catholic Church in Ridgway and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glyndon, Md. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, American Legion and Sons of Italy.Â He was a graduate of Ridgway High School and enjoyed playing all sports.Â He also enjoyed gardening and his grandchildren.
Orlan K. Gearhart, age 89, a resident at Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage and formerly of Greenville, died Dec. 31, 2010 at Sharon Regional Medical Center in Sharon.
He was born Nov. 10, 1921 in Munderf, son of Lonnie A. and Esther K. Miller Gearhart.
On Nov. 25, 1940, he married Freda B. VanNorman, she survives.
