COUDERSPORT â A late comeback fell short for Ridgway boys soccer as the Elkers lost 3-2 to the Coudersport Falcons in the first round of the District 9 Class A boys soccer playoffs Monday night at CARP Park.
âI donât know why they have to wake up in the second half but they made it interesting,â Ridgway coach John Ogden said. âI told them beforehand that they had nothing to lose, so play hard. A sloppy first half and an exciting second half, theyâre the cardiac kids. They just came up short.â
The Elk County Conservation District approved the proposed 2012 budget during Monday night's regular meeting.
District officials budgeted $190,897 for the 2012 fiscal year with a three-percent raise for employees.
An executive session was held prior to the meeting to discuss the budget.
"We went over some numbers and I think we came up with a fairly well-balanced budget," Braun said.
Braun said the decision for the three-percent wage increase was based off of what county officials were doing.
JOHNSONBURG â The Johnsonburg Rams (0-9) will forfeit their second game in a row Friday due to injuries and a low number of healthy players on the football team's roster.
"We're forfeiting against Curwensville (7-2)," Johnsonburg head varsity football coach Jesse Schreiber confirmed Monday afternoon. "We're not going to be able to play this week because we're still banged up and have some players who haven't been [medically] cleared yet."
