The All-District volleyball all-star teams were announced for District 9.
The teams were selected by the PAVB Coaches Association.
Johnsonburg had two players make the teams. Cody Anderson was named as first-team All-District and Justis Myers made third-team All-District.
The first-team all-stars consist of Anderson, Brooke Bailey of Clarion, Lexie Meholic of Elk County Catholic, Taylor Frank of Elk County Catholic, Brittany Hanlon of Clarion and Dani Fleeger of Clarion. The MVP was Tiffany Smathers of Clarion.
Patricia A. Larkin, 78, of DuBois, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 28, 1932 in Emporium, daughter of the late Alfred and Veronica (Orsy) Mitcheltree. In 1949, she married Charles W. Larkin, who preceded her in death in 1974.
She was raised in Driftwood and lived in several local communities, including, Emporium, Johnsonburg, St. Marys, Ridgway and most recently DuBois.Â She was a homemaker who enjoyed her time with her family and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed having dinner out with her family.
Dormilee Ellen Feustel, 78, born and raised in Ridgway, died Monday, Nov. 15, at 9:55 a.m. at Conestoga View in Lancaster, under Hospice Care. She resided with her daughter, Cheryl Keener for many years in East Petersburg, until October 2010 after a terminal illness.
Gloria Valentine Anderson, 84, of 769 Washington Rd., St. Marys, died on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Emporium, daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Husted Razey.
On Oct. 28, 1950 in the Sacred Heart Rectory, she married Firmin E. Valentine, who preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1979. On June 6, 1982, in Ludlow, she married Bertil L. Anderson, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2002.
John F. Wachob, 84, of 101 Julia Street, Johnsonburg, died on Saturday morning, Nov. 13, 2010, at his residence, surrounded by his family, following a short illness.
He was born March 25, 1926, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Lloyd B. and Viola Muroski Wachob.
On Sept. 25, 1946, in the Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, he married Bette J. Williams, who preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 2007.
Margaret M. Gigliotti, 78, of 620 First Ave., Johnsonburg, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 14, 2010, at the Elk Regional Health Center following a short illness.
She was born Feb. 15, 1932 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Frances Careno Gigliotti.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1950.
Regina J. Wonderling, 74, of 2166 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Ridgway, died on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at the Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 4, 1936, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late James and Verna VanLuvender Shaffer. On July 30, 1955, in Wilcox, she married Carlton G. Wonderling, who survives.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a former employee of the Stackpole Corp. and Ridgway Powdered Metals. Mrs. Wonderling was a Protestant by faith and she enjoyed being with her family.
Ida J. Allegretto, 86, of 814 Spruce St., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 9, 2010, at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a short illness.
She was born on July 18, 1924 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Andrew and Stella Gorna Mrofchinski. She married Theodore "Ted" Allegretto on Jan. 30, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1994.
She resided in Johnsonburg most of her life. She also resided in Buffalo, N.Y. for a brief time. She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1942.
Roberta A. Swanson, 58, of 182 Dagus Mines Rd., Dagus Mines, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 13, 1952 in Dagus Mines, daughter of the late Robert G. and Rose Ann Spangler Dinsmore.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She was an employee of the Dickinson Mental Health Center. She was a Catholic by faith and an active member of the Kersey Eagles #727 and the Dagus Mines American Legion Post #511.
Helen M. Pavlock, 88, of 209 Glen Mayo, Johnsonburg, died Thursday evening, Nov. 4, 2010 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Louis and Mary Machcoviak Majewski.
On Oct. 25, 1941, she married Bernard R. Pavlock, who preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1988.
